Volando traditional Cocktails

Volando Charro Negro

Locally known as “Batanga”, and rivalling Paloma as Mexico’s most popular Tequila cocktail, it remains virtually unknown to the rest of the world.

Story & CelebrationS

Vegetal, salty, quenching and moreish, the Charro Negro combines the refreshing taste of Coke Cola with the rugged earthiness of agave.

Mexican Legend has it the Charro Negro was a horseman dressed in all black, riding a black horse, offering bags of money to unsuspecting strangers. Those who accepted the gifts of this mysterious stranger ended up dead a few days later. It is no wonder then that the Charro Negro is associated with Mexico’s most celebrated and historic holiday ‘Dia de los Muertos’ or Day of the Dead.
