Inventor of the Vampiro, arguably the greatest Tequila cocktail in all of Mexico, Oscar Hernandez mans his roadside stall selling Vampire Cocktails out of plastic bags.

If desired, rim a glass with salt

Fill the glass with ice and all ingredients

Top it up with grapefruit Soda

  • 60 mL Volando Blanco Tequila
  • 30 mL lime juice
  • 15 mL orange juice
  • Ice
  • top with homemade Sangrita
  • Garnish: Orange slice + pepper + salt rim (optional)
Paired Sangrita


Sangrita ‘Little blood’ is the traditional Mexican chaser for Tequila.
  • 150mL of Tomato Juice alone or with clam (Clamato)
  • 100mL of Orange Juice
  • 5 Squeezed Lemons
  • 1 tablespoon Grenadine Syrup
  • 2 sprinkles of Hot Sauce
    (Valentina, Tamazula black sauce, or the preferenced)
  • 2 sprinkles of (Worcestershire sauce)
  • 2 sprinkles of Maggi Juice
  • Salt and Ground White Pepper to taste
